Camera Position Animation
Moving a camera along a path with a position animation.

Camera Position Animation moves a camera along a path over time, using the same Position Animation command as other shapes. With it you can:
- Pan across the board: move a camera along a straight line, a curve, or a list of points while keeping the camera upright.
- Follow the movement during playback: the playback view travels with the camera while it is the active camera and See through active camera is on.
- Keep parented shapes fixed in the view: shapes parented to the camera move with the camera on the board so they stay in place inside its view, like a title or HUD overlay.
- Combine with zoom: run a Camera Zoom at the same time to pan and zoom together.
Creating it

Adds a block that moves the selected camera along a path.
- Operation:
- Select a camera on the board.
- In Animation mode, choose Position Animation in the Actions panel.
- Result: a selected block starts at the playhead with a duration of 0 seconds and its start and end at the same position, so the camera stays still until you set its destination:
- Set the destination: drag the path's end handle on the board, or enter Delta X and Delta Y in the Attributes panel.
- Duration with Maintain speed (in the Timeline panel header):
- Enabled: the block's duration adjusts to the path length, so a longer path takes more time.
- Disabled: changing the path keeps the current duration. A new block stays at
0suntil you drag its end handle in the Timeline panel or enter a Duration.
The position animation block in the Timeline panel

In the Timeline panel:
- Shows in blue: Position Animation blocks use blue ().
- Uses camera handles: a block that targets one camera has camera-shaped start and end handles.
- Hide camera tracks: filters camera blocks out of the Timeline panel, including the Active Camera track.
- Off: camera tracks always show, even while other shapes are selected. This is the default.
- On: camera tracks are hidden, except those of a selected camera.
The position indicator on the board

The position indicator shows the camera's motion path and handles on the board:
- When it shows: appears while the block is selected, or for any selected camera while Show all animation indicators is on.
- Start handle: marks where the movement begins. If the camera has an earlier position block, this handle stays linked to the end of that block.
- End handle: marks where the movement finishes. Drag it to set the destination.
- Move the whole path: drag the path line to move the entire route. This also moves the camera's starting position, or the end of its previous position block.
- Shape the route: add and drag intermediate points or curves along the path. Camera paths support Linear, Points, and Bezier modes; see The position indicator on the board.
Attributes

A camera's Position Animation settings are in the Position Animation section of the Attributes panel:
- Time: when the movement starts and ends, in seconds. Each field is outlined while the playhead sits on that time.
- Duration: the block's total length in seconds, including block pauses.
- Speed: speed multiplier relative to the board's base position speed (150 board units per second by default), the same base speed used for other shapes. Changing it updates the block's duration.
- Delta X and Delta Y: how far the camera moves horizontally and vertically from start to end, in board units. Changing them stretches the path to fit the new distance while keeping its start anchored. With Maintain speed enabled, the duration adjusts to the new path length.
- Easing: how the movement speeds up and slows down (Cubic in and out by default). See Easing.
Cameras cannot rotate, so their position blocks do not show Auto-Rotate controls.
Recording a movement

Records a camera path by dragging the camera across the board with Capture Real-Time.
- Operation:
- Select the camera on the board.
- Choose Capture Real-Time in the Actions panel.
- In the Realtime Capture section of the Attributes panel, make sure Capture position is on.
- Drag the capture handle along the route you want the camera to follow.
- Result: creates a Position Animation block whose path and timing match your drag.
Actions

With a camera's Position Animation block selected, the Actions panel shows:
- Delete: removes the block. See Deleting animation.
- Cut, Copy, and Paste: move or copy the block to another time or sequence. See Cut, copy, and paste blocks.
- Reassign: moves the block to another camera or to other shapes. See Reassign targets.
- Create Block Pause: holds the camera's movement at the playhead and lengthens the block, while other blocks such as a Camera Zoom keep playing. See Block pauses.
For path conversion and handle-editing commands, see Position Animation actions.
