Icon library

Icons from open icon sets, searched and placed on the board as SVG images.

The icon library puts ready-made icons on the board:

Sets: thirteen popular open icon sets to browse, and a search across the whole Iconify catalog.
Placed icons: each one becomes an SVG image in the size and color you choose.
Credits: the icon's author and license are saved with the image when its set provides them.
Agents: a connected agent can search the same catalog and place icons in a chosen color.

Placing an icon

Adds one or more icons from the library as images on the board.

Operation:
1. Open the Side panel and choose Icons in its tab list.
2. Find the icon: type in Search icons, or pick a set in Library and browse it. See Panel controls.
3. Set Size and Color for the icons you are about to place.
4. Place the icons in one of these ways:
  - Select icons and click Insert icon, or Insert N icons for several. Clear empties a selection of several icons.
  - Double-click an icon to place it on its own.
  - Drag an icon onto the board. Dragging a selected icon places every selected icon.
Result: one image per icon, selected.
- A dragged icon lands where you drop it. Other icons land at the center of the view.
- Several icons land in a row centered on that point, in the order they appear in the panel.
- Color replaces the icon's adjustable color. Colors fixed in the icon's design stay, so multicolor icons keep their own.
- Size and Color apply to new icons only. Icons already on the board keep theirs.
Tip: closing the Side panel keeps the search and the settings. Switching to another tab or to Player mode resets them to Lucide at the default size.

Search icons: searches the chosen set, or the whole catalog with All libraries. It shows up to 96 results, so a more specific term finds icons beyond them.
Library: the set to browse and search, Lucide by default. All libraries needs a search term, since the whole catalog can't be browsed. The sets are Lucide, Material Symbols, Material Design Icons, Phosphor, Tabler Icons, Heroicons, Bootstrap Icons, Carbon, Remix Icon, Solar, Iconoir, Fluent UI System Icons, and Huge Icons.
Color type: filters the results by the colors of their set.
- Any color: every icon.
- Monochrome: icons from sets drawn in one color, which take the chosen Color.
- Multicolor: icons from sets drawn in several colors, which keep them.
Size: the side length of placed icons in board units, from 16 to 512, 96 by default.
Color: the color given to placed icons. It follows the theme's title color until you pick one.

Until it is converted, a placed icon is an image with an SVG file:

It can be resized, cropped, stroked, filtered, and masked like any image.
It can't be opened in the image editor, since it holds no pixels.

Turns a placed icon into editable shapes, so you can recolor its parts and edit its lines.

Operation: select the icon and click Convert SVG image to shapes in the Actions panel.
Result: editable shapes, grouped when there are several. See Convert SVG image to shapes.
Tip: copy the icon's attribution before converting it, since the new shapes don't show it.

Each placed icon keeps the credits its set provides:

CC BY badge: icons whose license is a CC BY license show a CC BY badge in the panel.
File name: the placed file is named after the icon and its set, such as home (Solar).svg.
Info: with one placed icon selected, the Info rows of the image's Fill section list Icon and Collection, and Author and License with their links when the set provides them.
Copy attribution: puts a ready credit line in English on the clipboard, such as home icon from Solar by 480 Design — CC BY 4.0, modified, with the license link when there is one. It ends in "modified", since the size and color are baked into the file.

Some icon sets are left out of the library because of their licenses.
Browsing and searching show at most 96 icons.
Loading sets and searching need an internet connection. Icons already loaded can still be placed, and placed icons are saved with the board. When loading fails, Try again reloads.
