Grouping
Treating several shapes as one.

A group joins several shapes into one unit: the shapes become part of the group, and a group can hold other groups. A click selects the whole group.
Grouping changes how the shapes are organized on the board. To select several shapes at once without changing that, use a named selection instead.
Changing a group
With a group selected, a change reaches every shape inside it, nested groups included:
- Moving, resizing, and rotating: the shapes move as one. A group turns around its own pivot.
- Styles and opacity: each shape takes the new value.
- Filters and masks: a group can't take a filter or a mask. Its shapes keep their own, and you add new ones by selecting the shapes inside the group. See Shape filters and Masks.
- Animations: each shape gets the animation. A Rotation Animation turns them all around one center.
Selecting inside a group

Double-click a group to enter it, then click a shape inside to select it alone. Click the board outside the group to leave it. See Selection.
Group

Join the selected shapes into a group.
- Operation: click Group shapes in the Actions panel.
- Needs: two or more selected shapes, none of them a camera.
- Result: one group in place of the shapes, selected.
Ungroup

Dissolve a group and leave its shapes where they are.
- Operation: click Ungroup shapes in the Actions panel.
- Needs: a selection made only of groups.
- Result: the groups disappear and their shapes stay in place, selected. Groups inside them stay grouped.
Add to group

Put more shapes into an existing group.
- Operation: click Add to group in the Actions panel.
- Needs: one of these selections:
- Shapes or groups, with the destination group selected last.
- Exactly one group, selected in any order with shapes that do not belong to it.
- Result: the other selected shapes join the destination group. Groups that join it stay grouped inside it.
Extract from group

Take shapes out of their group without dissolving it.
- Operation: click Extract from group in the Actions panel.
- Needs: shapes selected inside a group, none of them a group itself.
- Result:
- The shapes leave the group and stay in place.
- Shapes taken from a group inside another group move to the outer group.
- A group left with only one shape dissolves.
