Player overview
The Player, boards with and without animations, and Player mode in the editor.
The Player lets people view and explore a board without editing it, whether or not the board has an animation:
- Explore the board: zoom in, pan around, step through cameras, and use interactive shapes such as videos, tables, or PDFs. See Exploring.
- Watch and scrub animations: play an animation continuously or step by step at pause markers, pause at any moment to explore the board, and resume from there. See Playing.
It comes in two forms:
- The Player: the standalone viewer, such as the examples on the Irakasi website. It shows only the board and its viewing controls, and opens with the board's saved Player settings.
- Player mode: a mode inside the editor that replaces the editing tools with the Player's viewing controls while keeping the editor's top bar and Attributes panel. Use it to test how the board behaves for viewers and to configure its saved Player settings.
Boards with and without animations
Which controls appear in the Player depends on whether the board has a playable animation:
- With a playable animation: shows the navigation controls and the bottom playback bar so viewers can play, pause, seek, change speed, loop, or step through pause markers.
- Without a playable animation: shows only the navigation controls. Playback controls are hidden when:
- No animation: the selected sequence has no animation blocks.
- Zero duration: the sequence's Range in Player settings has a duration of
0s. - Playback turned off: Playback is off in Player settings, so viewers explore a still frame instead.
Player mode
Switch to Player mode in the editor to replace the editing tools with viewing controls:
- Test navigation and interactive shapes: check how panning, zooming, camera stepping, and interactive shapes behave for viewers. See Modes.
- Present the animation: play the animation continuously, or turn on Presentation mode to stop at each pause marker in the selected sequence. See Playing.
- Configure saved defaults: open the Attributes panel to change the board's saved Player settings.
